Remy Yearmix - Best Of 2009
Genre: House

Tracklist:

1 - Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso & Laidback Luke Feat. Deborah Cox – Leave The World Behind (SHM vs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike remix)
> There is no doubt that 2009 has been the Swedish House Mafia year. They played everywhere on Earth, from Miami to Ibiza and from Brazil to Asia. From huge festivals like Mysteryland to legendary clubs like Pacha Ibiza. “Leave The World Behind” was released after the Winter Music Conference and became in a few days n°1 on Beatport. This remix from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and bootlegged with the original track by the swedish themselves was played every Monday at Pacha during their summer residency. Ansolutely THE tune of this year.

2 - Chris Lake & Lys – La Tromba
> Amazing track in this collaboration between Chris Lake and his friend Marco Lys. Supported by Pete Tong from the beginning, it became an anthem in Ibiza during this season.

3 - Michel Cleis - La Mezcla (Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney remix)
> This is the summer 2009 anthem, created by the swiss DJ Michel Cleis, and here remixed by the Italian guys Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney. Absolutely THE tune on Ibiza dancefloors this summer.

4 - Mark Knight, D. Ramirez & Underworld – Downpipe
> Huge release from Toolroom Knights and nice collaboration between Mark Knight, D. Ramirez and a part of Underworld. Tech-House but a bit of progressive in this track and an amazing vocal made a huge success.

5 - Fedde Le Grand vs Empire Of The Sun vs Euryhmics - Walking On A Sweet Dream (Louis Coussée bootleg)
> Dutch DJ/producer Fedde Le Grand released his first album “Output” this year, and “Amplifier” was the biggest tune from it. Here in bootleg with Empire Of The Sun, discovered by the genius Pete Tong.

6 - Wolfgang Gartner & Francis Preve vs La Roux - Yin For The Kill (Steve Angello & Dave Spoon bootleg)
> Like Laidback Luke said about Wolfgang Gartner : “in 2009, you deserved it!”. And it’s true : with a lot of releases like “Flashback”, “Latin Fever” or “Fire Power”, Wolfgang Gartner reached a nice position in the most downloaded tracks on Beatport. This bootleg with the amazing voice of the british singer La Roux, did by Steve Angello & Dave Spoon had a lot of success on every dancefloor on Earth.

7 - TV Rock Ft Rudy - In The Air (Axwell remix)
> It has been a long time since Axwell released a huge remix. He did it with this remix of the duo TV Rock with the beautiful voice of Rudy. It rocked every place where it was played, and everybody enjoyed it.

8 - Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris Ft Chrome - Holiday (Avicii remix)
> This year, Dizzee Rascal made his big return by releasing an album produced by electronic producers like Calvin Harris, Armand Van Helden or Tiesto. This remix from Avicii has a huge synthe : in two words, massive track.

9 - Black Eyed Peas vs Robin S. - Show Me Boom Boom Love (Alaa vs Afrojack bootleg)
> It was also the release of the Black Eyed Peas’ new album … and it was a success. Shy beginning for “Boom Boom Pow” but it became very fastly a tune of the summer. Here we have a bootleg made by my Swedish friend DJ/producer Alaa with the remix of Robin S. by Afrojack. Each time I played it, it was an incredible moment.

10 - De Bos & Yeah Yeah Yeahs - The Heads Will Roll Down (Malm edit)
> Pretty nice bootleg for the end of the year. We see more and more bootlegs consisting in adding vocals from pop/rock groups and it really rocks out.

11 - David Guetta Feat. Estelle – One Love (Chuckie Feat. Fatman Scoop remix)
> 2009 was also David Guetta’s year. With the release of his 4th album, he matched a nice goal : making electronic tracks with R’n’B singers. Every single was a success : “When Love Takes Over Feat. Kelly Rowland”, “Sexy Bitch Feat. Akon”, and here “One Love Feat. Estelle”. Remixed by the dutch DJ/producer Chuckie and the voice of Fatman Scoop, “One Love” is gonna be the winter anthem. Chuckie also reached a huge challenged on Saturday 18th December by joigning more than 30,000 people in Amsterdam for the Dirty Dutch Outsiders night.

12 - Laidback Luke & Gregor Salto Feat. Mavis Acquah – Step By Step (Big Room mix)
> Very good year for Laidback Luke too. He reached the 27th place in the DJ Mag Top 100 and released big tunes like “My G.O.D.” or this collaboration with Gregor Salto and the voice of Mavis Acquah. In a Laidback Luke gig, you are definitely “rocking with the best”.

13 - Sebastian Ingrosso vs MGMT – Kidsos
> The 1/3 part of the Swedish House Mafia dropped this track during the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and it was already a nice success. A few weeks later, he released this bootleg with MGMT which reached the top 10 on Beatport during a long time. Sebastian, Steve and Axwell also decided to play this track as the latest track of the latest night in the Dark Forest night , Pacha, Ibiza.

14 - Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition (Axwell & Dirty South remix)
> Nobody knows this rock group from Australia, but everybody knows this amazing remix from Axwell and Dirty South. With the nicest vocal of the year, this track absolutely rocked.

15 - Tiesto & Sneaky Sound System - I Will Be Here (Wolfgang Gartner remix)
> Tiesto released his latest album “Kaleidoscope” this year, with new sounds reaching House ans Progressive House styles. He also requested collaborations from Nelly Furtado, Calvin Harris, C.C. Sheffield or Sneaky Sound System. Here remixed by Wolfgang Gartner, “I Will Be Here” was a huge success for the DJ n°2 on Earth.

16 - Steve Angello vs Cali Culture - Vaccine For Your Monday (Sanchez & iBang bootleg)
> Last extract from Steve’s Yearbook, “Monday” is a tribute to the Swedish House Mafia residency each Monday at Pacha Ibiza. This bootleg is one of my favorite.

17 - Avicii - Ryu (Laidback Luke edit)
> Named as the best producer/remixer of 2009 by nobody else than Tiesto, Laidback Luke or Dirty South, the young Swedish Avicii (aka Tim Berg) is THE man of 2009. By spending the most part of his time in studio, Avicii released huge remixes for men like Richard Grey, Erick Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Roger Sanchez, Tiesto or Kid Massive. He also did some nice bootlegs, and some huge tracks like “Ryu” (supported bu the beginning by Laidback Luke) or more recently “Alcoholic”, remixed by no other than John Dahlback or Albin Myers. His collaborations with the French Sebastien Drums “Even”, “My Feeling For You” and “Pastis” created big buzzes on the Internet. He played on the RedKatz Immersion truck during the Technoparade in Paris in September, which he declared it as his “gig of the year”. A collaboration with Seb Drums and Norman Doray is coming up for 2010.

18 - David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South Feat. Julie McKnight - How Soon Is Now
> Huge collaboration between 3 monsters of the House and a diva. “How Soon Is Now” : one of the most beautiful track on the year. Played at the end of Sensation White Amsterdam by Seb Ingrosso himself, this track absolutely rocked out the crowd.

19 - Deadmau5 – Strobe
> And finally, we have the most famous mau5 of the planet : mister Joel Zimmerman himself. As an outsider of the electronic music, Deadmau5 reached the #6 at the DJ Mag Top 100 : he is absolutely THE phenomenon. He released his first album “For A Lack Of A Better Name” and made his “For A Lack Of A Better Tour”, with a bit of humor, in North America during the autumn. Supported by Pete Tong, the Canadian electronic producer and live performer totally rocked this year, from Ibiza to Australia and Asia. God Bless The Mau5 !
